OK. My curiosity is at it's peek. Why are men who work out of the home called

STAY AT HOME DADS but women are called HOME MAKERS? I am serious. Why is

that? I know that since I have been post op, little things bother me.

Hi Russ

I have never called anyone I know a 'homemaker'(maybe I'm too young for using

that terminology?? LOL)...people either work in the home, or out of the home.

I work outside the home. My husband works inside the home--hence, he is a

Stay at Home Dad--Dad being the most important job.

DEAR SALLY

NO YOU ARE NOT THE OLDEST IN THE GROUP. I AM GOING TO BE 60 IN DECEMBER 22.

I AM HAVING SURGERY ON NOV 20. I FEEL THAT THIS SURGERY IS THE TURNING POINT

OF MY LIFE. I HAVE EATEN WHAT I WANT FROM AGE 35 UNTIL NOW. THAT IS IT

FOR ME. I NEED HELP WITH THIS FOOD PROBLEM. MY YOUNG LIFE UNTIL AGE 35 I

WAS THIN.

MY MOITHER DIED 3 YEARS AGO AND I LOST MY BEST FRIEND. WE WERE CLOSE ALL MY

LIFE. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO A BEREVEMENT GROUP EVER SINCE. MY NAME IS RAYNA

AND I LIVE IN PELHAM NH. ITS FUNNY BUT MY MOTHER PLAYED PIANO ALSO. SHE

PLAYED IN NURSING HOMES BUT SHE GOT PAID. I HAVE A TAMBARINE AND USE TO PLAY

WITH HER. OUR GROUP ISN'T SAD. NOT WITH ME IN IT. I MAKE THEM ALL LAUGH.

I LOVE TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPRESSED ABOUT ANYTHING . THIS SURGERY I THINK IS TO MAKE

ME FEEL BETTER ABOUT MYSELF AND FOR MY HEALTH. I LOVE TO TRAVEL AND MY

HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN TO LOTS OF PLACES. NOW I CAN'T WALK SO IT IS TIME

TO DO SOMETHING. IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO ME PRIVATELY IT IS RUBIERAY@...

Its a good question .. but I do refer to myself as a SAHM which is a stay at

home mother. I never call myself a homemaker. Personally I hate the term I

prefer Domestic Goddess.

Rayna! You're gonna be 60? Holy cow! Who'd a thought! I thought you

were MUCH younger than my mom, but she's just a few years older (63)...wow!

I hope I look as good as you when I hit that age! :) Keep up your

LOL Russ...how about mothers who stay at home vs. Working mothers...like

people who stay home to raise children aren't working???? (I too

have never used the term homemaker---and I really hate housewife---I used

to refer to myself as a hausfrau just because I thought it was so fitting

LOL)

Rhonda,

In my limited experience in NY and NC, there was government funding available

for Hearing impaired children under 3 to be assitive technology devices

including hearing aids. . They called it the Assitive Technology program.

Don't know if this is the case in California but thought I would pass it on

anyway.

Thanks. California has a program called CCS that will help with things like

hearing aids, but our income is a little too high for them. That's our

problem: We're not rich, but we're not poor enough for anyone to think we're

a worthwhile cause.
