Guest guest
Talk about soda flavors brings to mind this question: Does anyone find that their pain is tremendously increased by even moderate amounts of caffeine? I have noticed that even one bottle of Coke, which is the flavor for me, increases the scalding skin surface pain that I have, and this effect lasts for about a half a day. Over the past few years, since I have been having this problem, I avoid all caffeine but every few months test to see if this effect still persists and so far it does. When the doctors thought I was having low pressure headaches in 1997 they told me to drink anything with caffeine. Needless to say, it made my headaches much worse. I never acquired the taste for soda/pop as a kid. Not even coffee as an adult. I drink coffee when we have company, but normally just one cup. I think the reason I never enjoyed those things was because of the impact on symptoms. I drink lots of water. I like the bubbly kind of water that is flavored with lemon, or just out of the tap :-) Kathleen
Guest guest
Kathy: Could that be why my headaches get worse sometimes with the fioricet I'm taking??? I, unlike you am addicted to caffeine, not in pop form, I drink about a case of pop every 2 1/2 months (if that) LOL But coffee is my downfall. As is nicotine. When I had my surgery, and I woke up in ICU, the first thing they brought me (aside from a portable potty ROFL) was coffee. The ns was afraid that by not having it in my system, I would be alot worse. (That included giving me the ok on my chart to go in my bathroom and smoke) something to do with the cranial pressure from not having what you body is addicted to? is it possible, that by taking the pills with caffeine in them I am getting too much caffeine in my system???? Vicki Jotzat Chiari 2 20mm herniation, Lupus, possibly sm (being tested nest week) surgery 1/27/00 Can't say not getting any better because I was told it wasn't a positive attitude (I won't mention any names) So now it's " Still the same " Any day above ground spent with my husband and kids is a wonderful day!! tattoodlady@... http://hometown.aol.com/index/timberwolf827.html http://hometown.aol.com/blackmagik1313/myhomepage/index.html Re: caffeine and pain > > > ivy3500@... wrote: > > > Talk about soda flavors brings to mind this question: Does anyone find that > > their pain is tremendously increased by even moderate amounts of caffeine? > > > > Hi Ivy, > > Caffeine does increase the intracranial pressure. Guest guest
Ivy, Caffeine in anything increases the level of my tinnitus and also causes a minor breakout on my face.
