Hi ,

A couple of questions for your doctor would be:

Recommended bg goals for you.

Can you be scheduled to see a nutritionist?

If you are not testing your bg's (blood glucose) now, ask your doctor when

you should start and how often?

As you think of questions, write them down. It will be easier for you to

remember to ask your doctor.

hugs

Eunice

Hello list. I am writing to see if some symptoms I am having is normal with

diabetes. I just found out I am diabetic 2 weeks ago with a fasting blood

glucose on two separate occasions, 1st one 190, second one 200. I am overweight,

have a fatty liver, diverticulitis, removed gall bladder, appendix, tonsils, and

all female organs. Plus I am bipolar (manic depressive). I am on 7 medications,

6 for bipolar and 1 (Glyset 25mg) for diabetes. I have felt horrible over the

past couple of weeks. I feel so run down. I am seeing spots, get dizzy a lot. I

even vomited the other day. I can't sleep cause I am going to the bathroom or

getting a drink every hour. I feel puffy and my eyes feel glazed over. I do not

think I am swollen however, just kinda feel like I am retaining some water. I

have been having headaches too. I do not know if this can be common in diabetes

type 2 or not. I have a doctor appt. tomorrow. I guess I will find out then what

my A1C, thyroid, liver levels, and general blood testing say. Anyone have any

ideas on what I could ask my doctor?

Ask your doctor what the side effects are of all the medications you

are taking. Some may be guilty of causing fluid retention.

Welcome . It is pretty overwhelming in the beginning, but you'll get

good advice here.

Pretty much it will be trial-and-error for what works with you on

foods...and also meds, since you are on so many already they have to make

sure all are compatible.

Welcome.

Tam
