I don't know if I'd mentioned it, but I fancy myself as a writer as well. One novel is finished, and I've been working off and on with the second -- one of three planned sequels to the first. Family life, etc., demands my attention daily, and I haven't found the time to truly devote myself to continuing my work on it. The novel isn't published, and I have no immediate plans to search the market for someone willing to take it on. It was written to purge some 'demons', also as a challenge to myself to do the project. I'm pretty proud of it, and one day I may self-publish. All I need is the money. I'm not going the route of sending it out to every house that sounds good; five rejection letters is more than enough (filed away to remind me not to do that again.) I also don't want anyone picking the book apart, making me change it.
