Mandy of CA I, too, have to take an antibiotic (amoxicillin) before dental appointments but I also have to stop my Coumadin for three days. Consequently I don't notice any effect. However, when I have had to take amoxicillin for several days in a row I usually get my pro time checked during that period. Sometimes there is an effect and sometimes not--go figure! Guest guest
I've been taking antibiotics and coumadin pre-surgery and post scabies without any problems. You may want to take acidophilus if you are having any type of stomach distress. Acidophilus restores the " good " flora in your intestines that antibiotics destroys. Good luck. Guest guest
--- I checked with the cardio's office and the dentist, and both said " It's OK to take the coumadin and the before appointment antibiotics " Since it is just the one dose of antibiotics, it is not a problem, according to them. Thanks for the input, Mandy of CA
Guest guest
I'm getting a lot of milage from my antibiotic instructions. You are supposed to tell your Dr if you are on coumadin if you are prescribed leviquin. Guy
