Guest guest
Thanks for the great welcome. I am on medication. Metformn (500mg) 2 2x a day. Also some high blood pressure meds. It has been very difficult to do the glucose testing. In fact I haven't been able to do it yet. I am terrified of needles. I just recently received my testing kit. Just trying to get the nerve up to use it...LOL It wasn't a huge surprise to be diagnosed. Both my parents were diabetics, although my mother later in life. I am doing my best to try to lose weight and follow a diet. Can you tell I have no will power? LOL Sandy

Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Sandy. We're all here to support each other as best we can. How are you doing with the new diagnosis? Are you on medications? Have it under control? I am Ken GreyEagle. I have been type 2 for 6 years. So far I've been taking metformin (850 mg twice a day). I also take four different blood pressure meds one of which is for keeping kidneys from deteriorating. Again, Welcome Ken -- hi i am new Hello I am a newbie. Guest guest
Ah, ok. I had no problem with getting used to the needles part. I would suggest it might be good to have your doctor prescribe a 3 week diabetes education class. My doctor did for me when I was diagnosed 6 years ago. They covered nutrition, using the testing kit, a whole spectrum of subject impacting every day living with the disease. Ken GreyEagle -- Re: hi i am new Thanks for the great welcome.
