Anybody remember a song called 'D.O.A.' by Bloodrock circa 1971? Watch Mother,

Jugs, and Speed, listen to D.O.A., put on your orange-white-blue ambulance

smock, and go 100 mph in your Cady with the Q2 blaring to beat your competing

funeral home ambulance so you can get the bodies first. The good ol' days...or

so I'm told.

That's hysterical Mike! Their album came out in 1970 (Capitol) and their

lead singer was Lee Pickins, who for a time had the largest boat (50+

feet) on Eagle Mountain Lake in Ft. Worth. The boat had what was

considered by most to be the best stereo system ever assembled. It

reportedly cost $3,000. Ah, the good old days.

I remember the song, but I couldn't remember the name of the group. I

wonder if the album is still around.

Bloodrock was a band from Fort Worth (Western Hills and Southwest High

Schools). I graduated from Southwest in 1973. There were two brothers with

the last name of Ham involved.

Damn Bob, you're older than me. You're right, the Ham brothers were in some

other 1970s Fort Worth band. I stand corrected. I was in radio in the

early seventies working at KXOL, KLIF, but we rarely played Bloodrock in the

top 40 rotation.

I guess this shows my age, don't have my smock any more,

but do have Mother, Jugs and Speed, and a copy of the

Bloodrock cassette with DOA on it

But, the singer that joined Bloodrock after the

original singer(s) left WAS named Warren Ham...
