I had mild diarrhoea for about 3 weeks when I started taking metformin. After that I never had any side effects I noticed again. I did not experience what is with this medication. Guest guest Posted May 30, 2004 Report Share Posted May 30, 2004 I had to build gradualy to get the diarrhea and pains to go away! Ask the endo if your husband can cut one pill in half and instead and instead of taking the full pill twice a day take a full pill in the morning and a half a pill in the evening. When the pains subside then build up to the full pill again! I had to do this and slowly building it to where the doctor wanted be to be made it much easier!
