On the occasions that I have used Warfarin my INR has gotten way out of whack--the last time up to 6.8 without any change in diet, medications etc. Scared me and my doctor half to death, I might add--I had to have an immediate injection of Vitamin K. So now he won't allow a substitute with Warfarin, and in this case I am glad to pay the extra amount! However, some generics seem to work better for me than the brand name drug--go figure! Once again it just goes to show that we are all different in the way we respond to drugs and trial and error , if not fatal are the way we know that Brenta. They said it's important to stick to one or the other because they will effect your INR levels up or down. I've also found that when my druggist was out of Isoptin and gave me the generic form Verapimil I didn't feel as good and experienced more angina pain. So much for all we hear about generics being the same as the brand name. I thank the Lord that I have good insurance that covers my drug...I don't know what I'd do without it.
