Judy, I'm so glad that everything went well. What is pancolonic? My

son was sick after his colonoscopy too. I know he will not want to

drink the same prep next time. Can you tell me what this prep is?

Lee,

The way I understand it, pancolonic means throughout the large intestine. There are people here who have a lot of experience with UC and Crohn's - please chime in! In my son's case, the small intestine is fine and the connector between the small and large intestine looks normal.

There was quite a discussion here - sometime last year? or earlier? about visicol vs golytely and all sorts of colonscopy preps.Does someone else remember where it is? The way it turned out last year, getting the liquid stuff down was almost as bad as the aftermath. We have learned so much from this group.

As far as him being sick, he developed chills and fever and vomiting about 1.5- 2 hours after the procedure while he was eating lunch. He was taken to xray to check for a bowel perforation. There was none. He became very weak, platelets fell.

So this time was totally different both before and after!

Thanks Judy, my son's large intestine is also all mildly involved in

the UC but I hadn't heard it called pancolonic, My son only had the

vomiting after the procedure but I know what will make him dread having

another colonoscopy will be more the prep than getting sick. Exactly

how did you do 's prep? How much ducolax? Ducolax is a pill form

laxative , isn't it? I want to find a better prep for Bill before next

time.

I'm really glad that things went better for this time. I wish

him well.
