NACP.

The Indian Multi Sectoral Civil Society Alliance to Combat HIV / AIDS

launched in Mumbai on 12th February, 2009 acknowledged the Peer out

reach workers contribution to the National AIDS Control Program

(NACP).

The unanimous resolution of the funding members of APACHA India

observed that the Peer out reach workers are the backbone of National

HIV response. The resoulution further stated that " We strongly feel

the need for increasing the remuneration for the services of the peer

out reach workers immediately "

@Many of the peer outreach workers are from the affected and infected

communities and deserve additional care and support. When the

remuneration of all the other administrators of HIV response have

increased, reducing the remuneration of peer outreach workers is

unfortunate, unjustified & unethical " . the resolution further

observed.
