Dear Forum members,

/message/9916

I appreciate Pooja Thakur for bringing this issue up as we are also having tough

time with DIC salaries.

In a matropolitan city like New Delhi, we are running a DIC supported by DSACS

where Coordinator's salary is Rs. 6000 per month, Counselors salary is 5000 per

month while outreach worker and Office Assistant's salary's salary is 3000/- per

month.

Sometimes we face challenges in finding right staff and then these staff's

survival issues.  We do not get a room on rent for 3000/- per month here and

then commuting charges to office is about 1000.

What will they eat is a question and then talking of positive living.  All

these staff are women and majority are women living with HIV.

I request NACO and SACS to consider this as an issue and respond to this by hike

in salaries for DIC staff as per the cost of living.

In solidarity,

Celina
