Welcome and were glad your still with us. I could tell you about my

wife's diag of Type 1 one month ago, but I would just be repeating

almost exactly what you said... Her readings were in the high 5' and

her ketones (I think 400+) this I'm not positive, but Endocrinologist

said she'd be in ICU within days.

She'd been on paid medical leave for five months, went to her primary

doc just weeks before. If you look up the symptoms of T1 (maybe all

diabetes) she should of been diaged months before. Her A1c was 17.2 -

that's pretty high, meaning she has been pushing high 4's for 3 months

at least.

She normally weighed 110 lbs, but was losing 1 1/2 lbs a week. At diag

she weighed 80 lbs.

Sounds like you have some good support around you - I know there is some

great support here. For recipes and good advise (nothing tops your

doctor) check out the [alldiabeticinternational] yahoo board and search

" dnevessr@.... " This is the best board, but tons of

recipes elsewhere.

& T1 - By the way, is up to 92 lbs in 3 weeks

Thanks ! I lost 60 lbs in 1 month! I went to the Dr a week ago and

gained 4 of those lbs back! Although I could stand keep those lbs off!
