Hi Bruce, This is not a diabetic recipe list. Also, we do not tell people what to eat and what not to eat. It is up to each individual to find out what works for them. Just because someone can't eat potoatoes does not mean that the ones of us that can, have to give them up. Eunice
Guest guest
Of course it isn't; that's why I didn't give specific examples. Re: Re: 8 bad cookies Hi Bruce, This is not a diabetic recipe list.
Guest guest
What a drag to hear that news.....But thanks for the info. I truly appreciate it, especially as a newbie. Jan -- RE: 8 bad cookies Many people find that potatoes raise the BG and keep it up to an extent quite out of proportion to the mathematical amount of carbohydrates; I would guess that it was the potatoes in combination with the cookies that sent you off. Just wanted to touch on this part of the question........it can " hang around " because when you sleep your body isn't very active in order to burn off the excess glucose in your system! Not to mention 8 cookies is a bit much for a snack, a typical serving (depending on what cookies you had) is only 1-3 cookies.....so you had anywhere from 2½ to 8 servings!!! Thats a lot of glucose to dump into your system when you aren't going to be very active for the next 5-8 hours! If you are going to have such a snack have it and go for a walk or workout within the next 2 hours to help burn it off!
