Guest guest
As you all know, we have been with Yahoo going into our fourth year - and we have been very pleased with the features they offer us here. However, they do go down now and then; and it has crossed our minds that should something major happen with Yahoo and we would have absolutely no access to our Board, it would have a tremendous affect on all our members. We are nearing one thousand (1000) in membership, and to lose communication with this Support Group would be a disaster. Bobby has created another Board, which we are going to call our *backup* site. Please note that we are *NOT* closing down the Yahoo site. Again, we are NOT closing this board. The purpose of the backup site is to have a second site available, and one that we are asking you to become familiar with - just in case ~~~~~~~~! The backup site is quite different than the Yahoo site. Just take a look at it; register; take all the time you need, and play around with it. Again, its quite different, but very interesting. Make a note of the site; make it one of your favorites; bookmark it. It could come in mighty handy. http://afibsupport.proboards23.com/ When Yahoo is yahooing, we are tough out of luck! If we have a backup site, such as the one above, we at least have a way of communicating with each other and the group - even if its only on a part-time basis. Again, the Yahoo site is our primary website, and we are NOT closing it down. The new site is only a secondary site. Please familiarize yourselves with this new site.....it's fun! We'll keep a look out for your membership there - with the same warm welcome we have here ~~~~~~~ come on over and give it a try! This message will be posted periodically so that our WebOnly members will have an opportunity to become aware of our backup plan. Should a WebOnly member be online to see this particular message, you might want to consider changing your preference to *Special Messages*. This would serve two purposes; (1) you would preserve your WebOnly access, but (2) the Moderators would have a means of communicating with you by way of Special Messages - this, of course, would only be possible if Yahoo was up and running. Hope to see you all on our backup board ~~~~~~~~ Ellen
Guest guest
I've been there and seen it. Eventhough I'm an individual message user here and it looks like there's no email capability there, I really like its features a lot better tha Yahoo. It'll be interesting to see how others feel and whether this board or that one stays as the long term primary. Great job.
Guest guest
This is a great piece of software for groups. Most of my other user groups use this software (or a version of it) and it is much better than a Yahoo site. It has far more features, and advertising is far less annoying. I like it! Guest guest
Like the site, but don't lose the e-mail read/post facility, which I use almost exclusively. V.

The e-mail facility really saves time. It's great to hear from a former afibber who is doing so well. I am very happy for you. in sinus in Seattle
