Guest guest
what wikip states is correct  for the amount of people that ldn has helped there are the silent ones that it has not, percentages unknown, ldn is not for everyone  with regard to depression, ldn may diminish depression and anxiety and improve quality of life due to 'feel good factor' ie holistic approach  ldn's variability in terms of dose requirements, ie ms for example, what suits one may not suit another, has there been trials and studies  until there is randomised, double blind, placebo controlled studies i feel wikipedia have got it right  i started ldn 02 dece last year and not seen any significant improvement or halting of my ms but will continues to take 3mg after breakfast and access after one year  my doc states that ldn is a stand-alone treatment, yet there are others that say it is not  a little knowledge is a dangerous thing but its good to 'talk'  regards/peter  ________________________________ To: lowdosenaltrexone Sent: Sunday, 30 October 2011, 14:49 Subject: [lowdosenaltrexone] Re: Special Notice: Wikipedia Article on LDN in Need of Maintenance  May I suggest we need a link saved on this site, that is written as we would like it, with strong references.  This way it can be simply copied and then pasted into Wikipedia by any of us members. Surely we members, through group support, could then beat this guy at his editing game. Sincerely, > > Special Notice: Wikipedia Article on LDN in Need of Maintenance > > Dear LDN Yahoo Group Members, > > It has come to our attention that the Wikipedia article on LDN (see link below) has been edited in a way that is biased and unfair. Specifically, many of the established uses of LDN for a number of diseases are being portrayed as " pseudoscientific claims " in the article. > > This is an issue of significant impact for the LDN community, as Wikipedia has increasingly become a trusted source of information for the general public. For example, those who hear about LDN from a friend may choose to first read the Wikipedia article, and given its negative tone may decide to go no further in their research. > > Despite the efforts of some (including Dr. Burt Berkson) to correct the negative slant of the article and provide factual evidence, the article has been consistently re-edited to restore its biased tone. > > We are writing with a plea to those members of the LDN Yahoo Group who are web-savvy and would enjoy taking on the task of editing and maintaining the LDN Wikipedia article. We are not suggesting that the article become an advertisement for LDN, merely that the content and tone of the article be maintained to be factual, fair, and balanced, and that the reference links provided with the article include a wide array of sources of information regarding LDN -- not only skeptical sources, but also articles and websites that highlight the research done on LDN (including -- just published this week! -- two new articles on the use of LDN for HIV and AIDS) and the broad potential of LDN. > > Our hope is that among the members of LDN Yahoo Group, there may be those passionate enough to become dedicated editors of and contributors to the Wikipedia article. > > Many thanks in advance to those willing to help! > > With gratitude, > > Gluck, M.D. Gluck, M.Ed. > www.ldninfo.org > > The Wikipedia article on LDN can be found here -- and can be edited by anyone: >wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_dose_naltrexone > > We suggest you save any changes you make in a text or Word file on your own computer, as other users of Wikipedia have been known to delete or modify changes to the article, sometimes on a daily basis. >
