Guest guest
Hi all Glad I found this group. You all seem knowledgable and a nice group to boot. I have been newly diagnosed Type 2 and a lightweight. I do not have to take any meds or shots at this point. In May I start a 4 week education program. Right now I just need help to start somewhere. I have noticed that when Im hungry, the BS is about 100. Hunger doesnt seem to be satisfied unless I eat carbs like bread. Can you folks get me started womewhere for advice? Thanks so much in advance Jany in El Cajon, CA Just turned 50 yrs young
Guest guest
I found that once my glucose levels BGL were near normal the extreme hunger abated. In my case when the #'s were high it was like pre-diagnosis without the killer thirst. As always YMMV Your Mileage May Vary. It does take a while to modify our behavior, also we can try to deny this @#$% disease. Guest guest
EXCESSIVE QUOTING MANUALLY REMOVED BY MODERATOR. PLEASE EDIT MESSAGES Just goes to show that everyone shows difference Sx. I got my first clue that I might wind up diabetic when both my babies were over 9#. One was 10# and the other 10.6#. Altho I never got gestational diabetes. Diabetes runs on my dads side. He and two brothers had it. Altho, I think one brother was Type 1. Me being overweight didnt help. But its ALWAYS been difficult for me to lose weight. My sister is the same in structure and weight Her husband is large boned and tall like mine. But her babies were puny things. hehehhe like 5 to 6.5#... Ive accepted the fact that I have DM. I just dont know where to start. Seems all the little changes arent doing anything. ok, Im done whining. Jany >I found that once my glucose levels BGL were near normal the extreme hunger abated. Guest guest
Yeah, I thought I was " safe " when my baby was 8, 13 oz. No gestational diabetes, and no HUGE baby, so I thought I'd escaped....but not so! maralee ****EXCESSIVE QUOTING MANUALLY REMOVED BY MODERATOR. I feel scolded and a bit discouraged though when this comment appears (even though it wasn't me THIS time)! ****Just goes to show that everyone shows difference Sx. ****I got my first clue that I might wind up diabetic when both ****my babies were over 9#. My nombers are good, my alc's have running below 5.0 and my feelings of hunger are worse than ever before. But some of that may be due to the medication I take (Avandia), but still, YMMV is so true, gail
