Guest guest
I was taking Amaryl, Metformin, and Avandia and my doctor recently changed me over to Avandament which I believe is a combinatin of the Avandia and Metformin. The Amaryl worked great but was more expensive so the doc has switched me to the gliberide xr. So are it seems to be doing pretty good. He said I could increase it to 2 in the am if my readings are too high. I'm having afternoon readings as low as 70 and morning readings between 100 and 170. Mostly my mornings seem to be higher. I have never heard of the liver dump before but this was interesting for me. It made me realize for the first time the importance of not going without food. If I understand correctly it can actually cause my reading to go up. I do need to lose weight so I often don't snack which doesn't seem to help. In fact I have recently put on about 10 lbs and I'm not sure why. I am wondering if that could be related to the change in meds. My weight had hung between 200 and 210 for years and I am now about 219. The weird thing for me is that 2-3 years ago my stomach seemed to get much larger. I feel as tho I am about 8 months pregnant. I did not gain any weight at all til now. Has anyone else experienced this. The doc has sent me to specialist and they have run test and found no cause. I think this may also have something to do with my back hurting more. I have trouble walking very much because of my back (lower back). Guest guest
Well, did I ever get off track. I have ocassionally experienced a sick feeling over the years but can't contribute it to any particular medicine. I don't seem to have them as often as I used to. I used ot spend a lot of time in the bathroom too, but don't that a lot anymore. Maybe my system has just gotten adjusted to the meds. > I was taking Amaryl, Metformin, and Avandia and my doctor recently > changed me over to Avandament which I believe is a combinatin of the

When I went off of the drug, I lost 10 pounds in a week of body water retention. It was the Glyburide. I also am on a diuretic, HTZ, and it didn't help with that 10 pounds at all. My dr. just told me that most of the diabetic Rx's cause body water retention. Anyone else have this happen? - Tina Eagleheart
