Guest guest
Howdy everyone, I just got back from a two week vacation. Boy it was fun. Went to Grand Canyon with my hiking group and hiked down 7 miles off the North Rim. Beautiful weather. We were doing some volunteer work for the park. Weeding, painting and anything else the rangers needed us to do to get the camp ground ready for the summer. On the climb out I was doing pretty good until the last 1/4 mile. I was noticing that my head was getting a little cloudy and that my speech was slurring some. I only had a couple of pieces of candy to eat so I ate that and concentrated to stay away from the edge until I got to the top. My boyfriend was there waiting for me and heard my speech. He finally understood me saying that I wanted a can of soda with sugar in it. After I took off my pack, sat down and drank the soda I was feeling better. Should have taken my BG but I was ready to get somewhere to get a long awaited shower. We then went to Prescott, AZ. to a friends wedding which was really beautiful. Then my handsome boyfriend and I went on to Las Vegas and proceeded to get married ourselves. After our wedding I noticed that I was having low BG again and out came another soda. I was surprised at that because I had eaten a really good breakfast that morning. Could the excitement of the event have caused the low BG? I did take it that time and was at 58. I took lots of photos on the trip and will get them posted online as soon as I can. Thanks for listening to my rambling. This is a great group and I have learned so much. Guest guest
Not yet. We have hiked Mt. St. Helens a couple of years ago. My daughter was in Astoria and I fell in love with the area when I was there for the birth of my youngest grandson a few years ago. I am overweight but I love to hike and backpack. We are wanting to try the wonderland trail around Mt. Rainier someday. Should be fun.
