Guest guest
Dusty- I’m sorry this is so late, but I was studying all week for a test in my master’s class!! Yuck! So, needless to say I’m behind on my messages for the group. You asked about using the progesterone – it is one of the very best things I did for my VV and I’m actually still on it. I use a natural progesterone cream; I know it’s hard to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about that, but if you can I would highly recommend it. I’m only 26 so using a natural progesterone is very important to me. I know some people believe that even natural prog. but I’ve read a lot on it and I really think you would be fine using it. I would not be using it if I did not believe that myself. It has helped with the pain/burning/rawness of the VV, including in the rectal area, but also with my fatigue, depression, dry eyes, easy bruising, feeling cold all the time, and a lot of other various symptoms. I’m also on 20 mg. of Celexa (an anti-depressant) which has really helped me. I hope this helps. My doctor is a big advocate of using natural progesterone and said he’s actually had a lot of success in helping women get pregnant using just that instead of Clomid, another ovulation inducer, or sometimes even fertility treatments. I was using ProGest over the counter cream. 20 mg per 1/4 tsp 2 x a day day 12-26 for 6 months and got no improvement...hoping to hear of others who have though to see if I was using it correctly.
