Guest guest Posted August 8, 2000 Report Share Posted August 8, 2000 Dear Dawn: That is wonderful news. What a great anniversary . I left Dr. Randall's by 4:15 PM so I did not get to see you. I did not have a great visit. I gained 8 pounds and Dr. Randall says he will cancel my surgery if I do not lose 20 pounds by my October appt. I have not been careful about what I have been eating but I have quit smoking, cut my caffeine consumption in half and am trying to eat regular meals all since my first appoint with him on 6/15. He said none of those things made up for having gained weight. He was also upset that I hadn't had my sleep study done yet. I told him that the Dr.'s office had rescheduled my appt twice, it is now in Sept!! I got mad and tried to call them but could not get through. I was in tears by the time I hit the parking lot and sat in my van for 20 minutes trying to control a panic attack. (I have panic disorder -- we have something in common Chey.) Especially from the one person who can actually help you. I'm sorry that you had to feel that way. Well, tomorrow's a new day. I'm sure you've done extreme dieting in the past, and if you have to do that again for a few weeks in order to get the surgery, I bet you can do it one LAST time. Just think... after this LAST diet, you will not gain the weight back! Please keep posting as I know how impossible it can seem to reach that goal. I dieted myself morbidly obese after 20 years. Congratulations on all the positive changes you've been able to make so far!
