Guest guest
shauna, what a HUGE RELIEF to hear you're home again, home again, jiggity jig, writing your own posts no less (although i must say, dear anita did a most outstanding job of keeping us all in the loop. jim and i ached for you as she relayed the details of your paracenteses, for example, as we do know what those are like)! jim & i have been faithfully keeping you close to our hearts and in in our prayers, and that's not going to change... now we'll amend our prayers that your recovery is swift... that you can continue to feel a bit more comfortable each day, as the edema hopefully is eased by the low-dose diruetics... that your serum sodium level improves... and you'll soon be OFF that darned inactive list, with sufficient MELD score. of course you're right; the wait lists certainly do change from day to day, and so many things factor into them. you can only do the best you can, keep trying your best to keep hanging in there, and leave everything else to God & your doctors/family's/friends' loving care of you. with continued prayers for strength & peace coming your way, maureen & jim

Guest guest
Dear Shauna, Hang in there. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. It is sometimes hard to understand what is happening or why. Sometimes things just are so that we can learn to adjust. There are really no easy answers or solutions. I am glad you are doing better. Sometimes I think the word " better " is as obnoxious as the word " average. " Know that you have my prayers. Guest guest
Just took a break from work and popped in to see if there was an update on you Shauna. So glad to here you are home now. Hope the meds do their thing soon and you get re-listed. Ya, whats up with that para-centises thing? Sounded like one weird situation/power struggle??. Deb had one once and the doc said it shouldn't hurt at all. As I sat next to her watching her squirm in pain, he seemed " shocked " . How could a huge needle piercing your belly not hurt? Anyway, here's hoping you never have one again... Glad your family has been with you, Kate
Guest guest
Hi Shauna- I hope and pray your ascites continues to recede (does the condition of ascites feel like your body is at " high tide, " on a regular basis?) that your sodium levels remain normal, that your infection is completely gone, and that you get relisted and win the " Liver Lottery " (so to speak) very soon! Love ya, Husband, Fred, PSC 3/04 - whose only symptom is off-and-on fatigue and was horrified to hear of all your symptoms and cannot imagine himself going through all that!!
