Guest guest
I think the cravings change--every now and then in the afternoons when I'm hungry, I " ll look up at my son's graham crackers or my husband's baked chips on the fridge. But I know they'll make me feel really yucky now. I guess I'm in Phase III now, but I'd really say I'm off SBD because I don't pay any attention to the Dr.'s guidelines--I just have in my head that I eat lowfat, lots of veggies, no processed carbs (like packaged crackers, cookies, or white bread products). There are definitely less carb cravings after a while, but it's a lot in your mind too. My mind knows that those chips are junk and I'm just not willing to give up my thin self for something with no redeeming qualities except for a slightly yummy taste Betsy ----- Original Message ----- > > > I do have a question for the " old timers " - do the > carb cravings ever completely go away? I still have cravings for carbs, but knowing which carbs I can indulge in and how much I can and how often really helps. I find I crave sandwiches for lunch, toast for breakfast, and cereal for dessert after dinner. I will have one of the three one day and then not have any carbs for a couple of days. Then I can have another carb. My weight has not dropped, but it hasn't gone up, either. -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@... Guest guest
What I usually do is find a healthy way to make whatever it is I am craving. During phase one I wanted pizza. I still love pizza. So I found recipes, one for a cheese crust, one for a meat crust and made those when I wanted some. During phase II I made them with whole wheat crust. Or I wanted ice cream so I made some of my own with an ice cream maker with skim milk and fruit and sugar twin. I'm pretty good at finding new ways to make things and hunting down recipes for things. I have like 800 recipes now. I would say most of my cravings for bad foods have gone. But the ones I still get, I find a healthy way to compromise and make my own.
