Hi,

I have been on 30, then 60mg Armour for a while.

Since starting the higher (60mg) dose of Armour, I have been getting depressed

randomly and frequently. I've had chronic infections (lyme and bartonella) for

about a year, and my RT3 was on the high side of the normal range, and I have

not been able to measure my T3 yet.

I ordered some Cynomel and am waiting on an appt next month with Dr. Rothfeld.

However, both of these are not going to happen until next month (the Cynomel

takes 3-4 weeks for shipping).

Is there anything I can do to raise my T3 levels and improve my mood in the

meantime?

-guggul used to help, but now I feel like it makes me feel worse if I take it.

-same with 5-htp, used to help, but now it doesn't help

-st. john's wort makes me feel weird, also it can be anti-thyroid

-I sometimes take zinc, but it worsens my hirsutism (hair on jaw line, etc.) and

sometimes gives me acne

Thanks,

,

Have you tried Inositol and Niacinamide? I started them years ago to keep from

getting weepy around periods. My husband was able to replace an antidepressant

with them also, as they are considered a natural antidepressant. They also help

stabilize blood sugar.

Irene,Does niacinamide act like niacin?  I didn't know this could help as well.  Do you take the inositol just for feeling down?  I'm looking for something to help with anxiety, have noticed if it helped with that?
