Guest guest
I have been on the diet for 11 days and have lost a ton of weight but my baby (9 month) is very gassy and has not pooped for a few days and last night was up almost the whole night with a tummy ache. I checked ahead of time to see if the diet was safe. I drink tons of water and am eating veggies, meat and cheese for the most part. I only have a few days of phase 1 left but I am wondering if I should just move to phase 2? Could her problem be my diet? Anyone heard of this problem with nursing? TIA Holly
Guest guest
I wouldn't think the diet would cause a problem. Just steer clear of known gas causing veggies...broccoli..beans etc. Give her some Maalox and see if it helps...my kids lived off the stuff! Guest guest
Yes, I had similar problems when miine were young. Broccoli, brussels sprouts and cabbage would do the same thing as you describe. Some of the common gassy vegetables, besides the above, are, onions, garlic, bell peppers of all colors, cauliflower, and beans (Beans, beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot.) Try eliminating these vegetables from your diet and see what happens. -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@... Guest guest
I am nursing and did a combo of phase 1 and 2. Cheese and dairy products will cause lots of gassiness and uncomfort for babies. I would limit the dairy. Re: SB Diet and nursing a baby ? Yes, I had similar problems when miine were young.
