I have to add my two cents to the food debate - recently, on a

health kick, I switched over to soy milk and other soy products, and

unlike most people I loooooooooove soy - but then began breaking out

in hives with my usual itching. Long story short, I think I have a

soy allergy! It figures. I haven't been to an allergist yet, so

I'm not 100%, but since I cut the soy out of my diet things have

been much more manageable. Could be placebo, but it's better than

itching one's skin off.

When my UC flares, I have found (for some reason) that grapes and

apples in particular aggrivate things. Don't ask me why. I have

always found dairy products to be soothing, but I know that others

simply can't stomach them. Isn't this disease diverse?

Yes it certainly is a diverse disease. By the way it is common for

people with allergies to also be allergic to soy. For people with food

allergies it is well worth consulting an allergist to help steer you

away from foods you probably will react to.
