Guest guest
This is a great statement! Lots of people do ask for hints and I say "drink water, at veggies, be prepared.. etc" but really the number one most helpful thing is to but read and re-read the book. I even used to take it food shopping with me in the beginning. I did find several wonderful recipes in the first book. It was invaluable not only because of the food list, but more of what the foods did nor did not do for you. It help name label read and know what to look for. -Beth --- Original Message ----- From: To: South Beach Group Sent: Saturday, November 06, 2004 5:10 AM Subject: Set Yourself Up for Success: Get the Books! Hi, Just a word of help for anyone just starting out there- I would *really* recommend getting both books ASAP before diving into South Beach. The differences, as has been pointed out recently, are many between SB and Atkins and other programs. Just like anything else, you will need to do some homework (i.e. read the book, reference the Good Fats Good Carbs Guide) to make sure you are following the Diet. When I have heard people fail, I have learned that they a) didn't have the book or didn't really read the book or c) relied on lists as this to guide them. This list is such a great resource but it is not a substitute for either book.
Guest guest
I skimmed through the SB book at Wal-Mart and was soooooo UN-impressed that I really didn't think it would teach me anything I hadnt learned on Atkins. I ordered the Good Fats/Good Carbs book yesterday online though. Kris Set Yourself Up for Success: Get the Books! Buy them used if money is tight, used versions start out at $6.24 and $2.65. The links are below. Guest guest
I also didn't find the books very useful I found more info online than in any of the books for free :0)...I bought the SBD Book green and was so disappointed (spent $35 canadian on it) to find out it was out dated. I wouldn't buy anymore of the books. The rest I borrowed fr the library, glad I didn't waste anymore money on them eitehr (JMO). There was absolutely nothing other than the short success and failure stories in the books that can't be found online.
