I wanted to hear from any young mother who has a child that has a helmet and how people reacted and treated you. I'm 25 and my son get's his DOC Band Wednesday and i'm curious as to how everyone will treat us since I still look as if i'm in high school! (In fact I still get asked, with two children in tow and wedding band on, where i go to HS)... Any input would be helpful! Thanks,Mommy to 8 month old (brachy/tort)For more plagio info
Guest guest
Hi , Sorry can't help. I was 32 when na was banded looked at least 25 so no young mom looks. You will most likely still get looks for the band and because you look so young (what a great problem to have - you'll love it in 10 years). I would just go about your business as usual. Give the same loving attention and smiles. I would also decorate his band. It really seems to make it less medicinal and it's a conversation starter. "Oh, hi , the trucks on your hat are very cute. BTW what's it for?". Most people react to how you are reacting. If you're smiling a lot then they take cues from you. Some are just morons so ignore them. Is adjusting well? Which CT clinic do you go to? Good luck mom to na DOC Grad Tort Resolved South Carolina <mamagill@...> wrote: Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hello , I also believe that informing people is the best weapon you have. Some people are ignorant to the point of ..., but hang in there. Also decorating the band is really an ice breaker, and makes folks smile. Good luck Sandy Willow's Mom > oh no you poor bugger! lol when i left HS i used to get asked what i wanted to do when i " grow up " haha quite comical really. > > I am 30 (eeek, the years have just GONE! so enjoy it while you can lol) so not sure I can help with the young Mum thing. > > Ronni. > young mothers with banded babies > > > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
goes to the ndale CT, and we get fitted on Wednesday. His casting was Nov. 3rd. We live in Northern VA and though there are a lot of wonderful people here, there are also very rude people who stare and make comments about anything not to your face but right around the corner knowing they are being rude and knowing you hear them. I look even younger right now because i'm growing my hair long to donate it for a second time to locks of love. I'm not much of a makeup person either. When i was prego with my son around the holidays last year I'd gone to the grocery store with my mother and daughter, who was 3 at the time, and the cashier asked if i was enjoying my break from school. We got a good laugh out of it. I know in the future i'll enjoy looking young, my mom is 54 and looks as if she's in her late 40's and she loves it! I just hate knowing the people pass judgement on how you look, that's why i was worried. Thankfully my friends hubby is an artist and he's going to pain 's helmet like the patriots, my husbands favorite team. Thanks to all who replied! >From: Filyaw <monicash@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: young mothers with banded babies >Date: Sat, 13 Nov 2004 18:15:48 -0800 (PST) > >Hi , >Sorry can't help. Guest guest
Hi , On school break, huh? LOL! When I was a senior in college I got a kids menu at a resturaunt and my 16 year old sister (who looks much older than me!) did not! My mom thought it was a riot! My mom is only 44 and also looks young, so when we're out with her everyone thinks she's the mom and I'm the big sister. Oh well! We'll love it someday, right? , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma > > > > > >Hi everyone!
