Guest guest
Lori, it will get better I promise! You are going to be so excited and amazed at the progress you see. At his age it will probably only take a week to see an improvement. I'm excited for you and know that you will not regret following thru with this therapy. Try to enjoy every minute with him now and every day because it truly does go by faster than you think (which is good in the case of helmet therapy). Take care, Sue Colin F., 13 mos. Guest guest
Hi Lori, My son, Cole, got his band Friday. I was VERY stresssed about it. But, you know, children really are amazing beings! He barely noticed his band at all and he is almost 11 months so that is saying something! It wasn't until we put him in his carseat to leave that he became irritated with it. But after a few minutes of us distracting him with toys and anything else I could find (LOL) he was acting like he had been born wearing one. So have faith mama, He will be fine. The one thing I have noticed during this process is that it is MUCH harder on us than them. ) Blessings, Mom to Cole, 11 months this Saturday (my how time flys!) Guest guest
Hey Lori, Welcome to the group! I was cleaning up our referring doctors database a few days ago and noticed your name on there because you're from son, right? Thats where my husband is from! He graduated from ston High. My husband has friends there who have two sons about two years apart who both wore the Danmar helmet. Anyway, I'm glad Ashton's tort is improving. I felt the same way as you before my daughter got her first band. It was definitely a harder adjustment for me than her, but that is what made it easier actually. To see her still happy and even better, to see her head rounding was all I needed to snap me out of it! Hang in there and be sure to let us know how it goes! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com/hannahs_noggin/ > > Hello All- > > I have been busy trying to read all of your postings, bios and > looking at your children in their foders. Guest guest
Hi - Thanks for your response to my post! Sounds like Cole is adjusting very well to his new " little buddy " . I will do the same and ride home in the backseat with Ashton....he does not like his carseat to begin with, so I am sure with the helmet he will really fight it! I know it is harder on the parents to see their little ones going through this. I may be surprised and he may adjust a lot better than I anticipate! All the reponses I have heard from the group, thus far, will really help come Thursday! I will keep your thoughts/experiences in the front of my mind while we drive the hour and a half to introduce Ashton to his new little " partner " in crime for the next few months! hehehehehe! Thanks for the shared thoughts! Keep us posted on Cole's progress and adjustment to his DOCband!
