I have to say that I got my order for Three Lac on Saturday. I

haven't tried it yet - I have a yeast infection now and am just

afraid of anything right now. I know I probably should be using it,

but for now I am just using the oral nystatin and trying not to

consume much sugar! I felt better today, so maybe the nystatin is

starting to work. I will be on it for another 10 days. I guess it

took this long to start working? I also got my period today, so I

was glad to not be so itchy.

Hi again,

The boric acid is a once a week thing. Sometimes it irritates me

too. The next day I use a light tampon to help absorb some of the

constant flow of melted suppository. I don't know if this is good

or bad but it helps keep my skin protected and seems to do the job

to keep me yeast infection free.

I just picked up the hydrocortizone OINTMENT (less irritating) It

is 2.5% (perscription strength) I used to use the estrace

everynight and it seemed to help. I stopped using everything for

about a month to see what my real symptoms were and added things

slowly back to see what really helped. I also was trying not to use

anything before my biopsy. I never felt as dry and and inflammed

when I was using the estrace. I never peeled like I did last

month. So....I'm back to using it nightly during and before my

period then three times a week after that.

The doctor that called it in for my is a dermatoligist here in

California at Stanford Med. Univ. that runs a gyn clinic every

Thursay. I have had the good fortune of having an appointment with

her. She is very helpful and interested in hearing all about your

sypmtoms. Her name is Joanna Badger if your from this area.

Do you ever try Aveeno bath soaks during a flare up. I do them and

they are the only thing that helps. Very soothing.

Good luck.

  • 2 weeks later...

Candi,

I was worried about using it more than once per day, as I wasn't

sure how I would react to it (with the yeast, as well as the

constipation that it can cause). So far, it is fine, though. So,

after a little while more taking it once a day, I will probably

increase it to 2x per day.

I know you mentioned a stool sample showing the type of yeast, can't

a regular swab culture do that as well? I remember Spadt

saying to me at my first appointment that every time you have an

appointment with her, she does cultures, and has them grow in the

lab for 2-3 weeks to detect hard to detect yeast. I never

questioned her about this, as yeast was never an issue for me UNTIL

NOW!!!!!

I paid 49.95 for my Three Lac on an internet store, not sure which

one.
