Hi All

anyone know if there is any results from the study of increasing Urso more than 15 mg/kg?

also does anyone have experience with the new 500 mg tab? Is it easier to swallow?

Saul,

The study I belive you are referring to is a 4 year multi-center

study. I am about 18 months into the study, I think no one is

further than about 2 years into it so results wont be available for a

couple more years at the earliest.

In regards to your question about 500mg tablets. I don't really fing

them better or worse than 300mg capsules. They are quite large but I

have no problem taking on larger pills myself. One difference I do

find is that the capsules perhaps had a little more tendancy to get

stuck in your mouth/throat wheras the tablets being solid seem to not

do that.

If I have figured it correctly I am taking between 27-28mg/kg. I weigh about 120 lbs and take 1500mg of Urso daily.

I haven't posted anything to this list for a long while. Our family has been extemely busy. We moved back into our home which burned 2 years ago this month. Then we had 3 children graduate (college, high school, 8th grade), one son got married, the high school grad went to Germany for 3 weeks and last weekend we hosted a thank you open house for those who helped us after the fire combined with a 2nd wedding reception for our son and his new wife. My mom has been battling an aggressive form of cancer during this same time and it doesn't look good for her. Since my youngest graduated from home school this year (I didn't count him as one of my graduates in the earlier list) I am maybe, just maybe looking at having more free time this fall which I will be able to spend with my mom and dad. I guess that is just a quick update on our family happenings and why I haven't posted. Oh,

yes...... I am still feeling well and my numbers are good. I think my fatigue has to be from over activity.

Hi Saul,

I weigh 165pounds and take 2000mg of URSO daily. My Hep even said he would be

glad to give me 2250mg!! I have had only one episode of cholangitis since I

started URSO.

Before my Transplant i was taking 900 mg og URSO in the morning and

at night. It lowered my bilirubin but didnt stop the progresson on my

PSC
