Welcome to the group!

You are very smart and very lucky to have found us before you even know if

you have thyroid cancer.

Yikes! That's a considerable growth in a year!

I agree with you that not knowing is almost always harder than knowing,

whatever it is.

Has your surgery already been scheduled?

I'm wondering why you are having a biopsy if it is already known that you

will be having your thyroid removed? A lot of us have had inconclusive

(or misleading) biopsies before surgery; it's the post surgery pathology

that really counts.

Where in Virginia are you?

There are local support groups in Merriefield, as well as Bethesda and

Silver Spring ....

If it's possible, it is probably a good idea to see if you can get your

grandmother's health records, or at least more information about her

cancer. Whatever your diagnosis turns out to be, it's a good thing to

have that information.
