OK since I've diagnosed myself with Hashi's I have a question. Even

with a supressed TSH there are still going to be ups and downs

emotionally and that is something I just have to get used to, right?

At work they were working on my computer lots of work blah blah blah

and last night was an AARRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH night. Now I'm thinking

that's just something I have to deal with.

Thanks

I think this is fairly true...although I think we can have periods of

stability as time goes on and the body heals. But since we're taking the

hormone

orally as opposed to our body producing it as needed, the system will never be

perfect. For example we might need more hormone during our menstrual periods or

if we have surgery or if we encounter emotional stress or physical

exercise....and since we can't always plan ahead and monitor it daily, the ups

and downs

(emotional and physical) are going to be there. It's too bad we don't have

little thyroid monitors like diabetics have for their condition.

That one would depend on what's going on emotionally, right? I think that we

would know the difference between " all of life " , as opposed to " the little

things " happening, and we don't have anything physically to handle them with. I

think that we normally may break down and cry at some things, rightfully get

angry at some things, but if we don't have a proper endocrine system (including

adrenals) to help handle it all, we know the difference. Thyroid and adrenal

problems usually give us a sense that we can't react to ANYthing properly,

because our coping mechanism is gone. I know that a simple thing like the car

not starting is some cause for anxiety, when I'm going to be late to work, but

when I'm getting all shaky over it, with my mind racing from one thing to

another, and my legs and arms are weak, that's not a proper coping mechanism.

That's physical. Just want to curl up in a ball. That's a for-instance, but

you know what I'm talking about, if you've been there. For me, little things

like that were thyroid and weak adrenals. Now my mind is clear, when I'm

approaching things like this, and I can think and decide what I'm going to do.

I used t think " What's wrong with me, that I'm reacting differently than what I

used to to these things? " Now I know.
