Guest guest
Hi Amy Maybe if you have another night like yesterday try taking the band off, and see if he wakes within that hr frame again. If he continues to sleep you know that it might be a helmet thing, and if not it might just be something else. I hope he adjusts soon. Some babies take a bit longer than others. Guest guest
Hi Amy, Sorry to hear about the rough night you had...did you check to make sure that he wasn't too warm (sweating, etc) or that the helmet wasn't pinching him anywhere? Because, to me, it doesn't sound like a normal helmet issue. We never had that problem when our son Jaxson was that age... he wore the helmet for a little over 4 months - and is now currently waiting for a Hanger band (wore a CranioCap before). Not sure about the feeding issue... that one is kind of hard to escape. Taking it off shouldn't be a problem, unless of course he falls asleep when he's eating... then you would have to sneak the helmet back on. I never took Jaxson's off while he ate... his helmet did slide a little, but if it's moving too much, an adjustment may be necessary. Hope tonight goes better than last... Guest guest
Amy, I'm so sorry to hear this. Did you take the helmet off and check his skin for pink or red marks? I'm not really sure if it is a helmet issue or if something else is going on. Did you check his temp? Could he be teething? We never had this problem (but Colin was 9 mos old when we started). Please let us know how he's doing today (during naps and in general). As far as feeding, C wasn't uncomfortable either. If my arm hurt, I just put a blanket between my arm and his helmet. Please call your ortho if you think his helmet needs adjusting. Sue Colin F., 13 mos.
