Guest guest
Deb, Thanks for posting this! This product looks really cool, I hope it is a big help in preventing plagio. I can't wait to hear your views on it. > Hey everyone! > Just as I was broken free from Plagiocephaly, lol, I've been pulled back in! A couple weeks ago, my daughter's (who is now 4.5 yrs old) Pediatric Neurosurgeon contacted me, and left me a message to return his call saying he was working on some plagiocephaly material. He has known how involved with this group and plagiocephaly awareness I have been for years now. I have sent him plenty of plagio literature over the years since Abby's diagnosis. > > We finally spoke just a bit ago over the phone, and he told me of a new prevention/repositioning product he has designed. He recently returned from an AAP meeting presenting this product. I will be going to his office next week Thursday to personally take a look at this item to see firsthand how it works and will share my " review " of it with the group. He has done case studies on his " sleep shaper " for some time now and is confident this will really reduce the number of plagiocephaly IF used early and consistently. Here is a link to the product with more detailed information if you're interested. I'll also add this link to our " repositioning " links section. > > www.sleepshaper.com > > Thank you! > > Debbie - Abby's mom 3/1/00 DOCGrad 6/22/01 > Grand Rapids, MI
Guest guest
Debbie, I am amazed by this product and think this is the best repo'ing item I've seen! I have a favor to ask. Don't know if you read my post today about Jaden, but please do. I am very frustrated w/ his old pede, and wonder if you (or your Neuro that invented this wedge) can offer some advice on how I can approach him about how beneficial helmets are and that they actually help reshape babies heads instead of providing just a preventative measure against plagio? I am currently printing off documentation and accumulating it in a file that I want to present to him. I would love to find out the AAP's reaction to this repo wedge as well. Any info you can send me my way would be appreciated. Thanks. ~Amy, mommy to Jaden 11 mo's MN CranioCap Grad 8/13/04 trying to get 2nd helmet scoliosis resolved by chiro from 6/29/04 to 10/13/04 YEY! tort resolved 8/13/04 (head tilt is back but has full ROM, are still doing PT) > Hey everyone! > Just as I was broken free from Plagiocephaly, lol, I've been pulled back in! Guest guest
A thought for the Neurosurgeon.... wouldn't it be great if he could cut out a hole for where the head lays in the repo wedge, and then replace it w/ that memory foam stuff, thus REALLY insuring that the likelyhood of the head getting plagio with be less significant? ~Amy, mommy to Jaden 11 mo's MN CranioCap Grad 8/13/04 trying to get 2nd helmet scoliosis resolved by chiro from 6/29/04 to 10/13/04 YEY! tort resolved 8/13/04 (head tilt is back but has full ROM, are still doing PT) > > Hey everyone! > > Just as I was broken free from Plagiocephaly, lol, I've been > pulled back in!
