Guest guest
Yes, tort can cause some facial asymmetry (cheeks, jaw, some of ear). Treating it does help those areas. mom to na angelahaiden1 <angelahaiden@...> wrote: ive heard that torticollis can cause the facial asymetry. if torticollis is treated...will that help with the facial asymetry.thanksangela mother of ashleytort and plagioFor more plagio info
Guest guest
I have trouble with Kennedy hating the stretches too. I have found that doing them in front of a mirror has helped distract her. I use the football hold to do the ear to shoulder stretch and we play "get the baby in the mirror". I also have had some success stretching her in front of the window because she loves to look outside. For the one where she looks to one side....I put her cheek on my shoulder and twist back and forth singing and she tollerates that for a little bit. It is hard!!! She hates being stretched and I hate doing it! Good luck!! I am wondering if any of you have had problems with stretching your baby(mainly with the ear to shoulder stretch)? My daughter is 7 months old and she is fighting me extremely bad to do these stretches. She stiffens every part of her body up and won't let me tilt her neck. She also screams and cries. We have been in the Starband for 3 weeks now and granted I have done them less during these 3 weeks but lately it seems to be getting so hard. Any advice or ideas on how to get these done. Anyone ever gone through this? I posted on the torticollis board as well but it isn't showing up yet so I am looking for any help I can get. thanks! For more plagio info
Guest guest
Chloe was diagnosed with Tort also. She is now turning her head to left at 80-90% when before it was much lower. We are now working on her trunk, she is still stiff and causes her to tilt while she sleeps. However things are looking good for us. I wish you the best of luck. My 6-month old son, , has been diagnosed with Tort as well as Plagio. We just had our PT eval for the Tort. I always noticed that he has a strong preference for looking to the right (thus the flat spot on that side). But I hadn't really noticed his "tilt" until the therapist pointed out - now it is noticable to me.For those of you who have gone through PT for Tort - what were your results? I can get to look to the left, but the tilt seems like it will be more difficult. Thanks!JennMom to (6 months)gets STARband on 9/
Guest guest
Jenn, I just wanted you to know that we too are going down this road. Our 11 week old was just diagnosed with both as well. It's hard with an infant this young, because the tilt sometimes just looks like a typical infant slouch, but he definitely favors the right side. I knew something wasn't right since birth and finally said something to our ped at his 2 month check-up. The plagio was more obvious to us back at birth, so we did a lot of positional treatment at home. That has gotten SO much better, but now we have the tilt to deal with and I am just praying there are no underlying causes. Have you guys had any tests, like ultrasounds and evaluation by an opthamologist? He favors one eye as well, so I am worried. The other eye waters when he works it more, it blinks a bit when he is focusing, and his visual tracking on that side isn't what it should be. We just had our PT eval last week too and tomorrow we have our first appointment to start working with him. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone and wish you luck! > > From: jenschmaud <jenn_schmauderer@...> > Subject: Tort question > Plagiocephaly > Date: Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 7:51 PM > > > > > > > I have a question for all of you veterans. > My 6-month old son, , has been diagnosed with Tort as well as > Plagio.
