Hi All

It's the Voice Of Desperation. As a recap, yes I did leave my

husband who began using crack in excess and getting violent. He tried to od

on muscle relaxers and smoked about 500 worth of crack in less than 24. I

brought him to a Mental Hospital and they put him on luvox and depacote and

sent him home saying he needs TREATMENT AND A 12 STEP RECOVERY PROGRAM I told

them my views and said look this man needs some help other then that catch

all answer and hes asking you for it. And his " TEAM " said he is and addict

and thats the way it is when his disease is talking. My husband is going to

die, as he got out on Tuesday and has been smoking and drinking and taking

these meds since then. If anything I believe the depacote may keep him out

there longer since its a seizure inhibating drug. What to do What to do.....

That is unreal. The Pacific Group is clear across the country from where

you are, unless he joined the East Coast chapter, the Atlantic Group.

I wouldn't worry about your spark. He probably had to call his sponsor

to ask permission to date you. Bottom line is that Pacific Group people

are only supposed to date Pacific Group people. How do you think they

keep Clancy supplied with fresh young chicks.

Not only do the guys have to wear a jacket and tie when they speak at an

AA meeting, the ladies must wear a dress. They're worse than the Promise

Keepers.

Pairing you up with this guy would be the worst ideological match up

since the Steinham/Limbaugh blind date.

Unless of course, your interest is merely derived from suffering from a

severe case of that age old Hawaiian disease, Laka Nuki.

In that case, tell him that he has shown you the error of your ways and

that you are ready to work the steps with him as long as he's ready to

skip the first twelve.

Yes, he's from Los Angeles. He's only studying here on the east coast.

Actually, I was surprised to hear that he's a former Clancy-ite. He

attended the Pacifica group for a couple of years, was amazed at the

ability of that group to transform people, allowed himself to be

transformed to a degree which was comfortable for him, and left. He

now smokes pot occasionally, but doesn't drink. Never liked drinking

too much anyway.

Yes, the ideological differences (with respect to AA) were extremely

polarized. Too bad it was the second topic we started talking about

because we may have found something less core-passion polar-opposite in

nature.

I've resolved the evening in my mind. In fact just about 5 minutes ago

while toasting a bagel. It all relates back to my mother. I still don a

" mask " when in my mother's presence. I know, I'm 31 years old, it's

time to cut the shit out. I was donning a similar mask with this guy.

For whatever reason he became my mother. I started acting with him the

way I do around mom. This of course means that I have to somehow

destroy the mask when I go visit mom over the holidays. Not easy, but

it must be done. This will help me recover from that HAWAIIAN DISEASE

too. (ROLF) They say that in romance (or potential romance) people tend

to recreate the relationship which they have with the parent with whom

there remain unresolved issues. I think there's truth to this.

apple, i know how you feel. i just moved back to balitmore (my old

haunt where i did msot of my drinking before i got sober) and am

trying to get back to swing of things in this city, meet new people

etc..i havent dated i awhile myself, but i feel better about myself

and have more self confidence than i did when i was up here last and

drinking. you'll do ok, esepcially if your attarctive when you where

that facial cream mask in your photo, you must be lovely when your all

dolled up. cant see you with someone from clancy's group, that man is

scary. i used to have some of his tapes, and his message on how to

treat newcommers is a lesson in mental abuse and mind control.

i wish i knew what to say. does your hsuband want to stop drinking and

drugging? becasue there is no treatment anywhere that works unless the

person really wants to. unfortunatly, i believe its usually only after

the hits a bottom or nearly kills themselevs that they wake up and see

what they have to do.

I was wearing the face cream the night I met the Clancy graduate.

That's how I get all dolled up.

I belive it when you say that Clancy's way of treating newcomers must

be all about mental abuse & mind control. Very scary stuff.

Sheesh! So sorry to hear about your husband's problems. I hope that he

gets through this. I'm glad that you're at least physically safe, Jen,

and your daughter too. Does your husband have any sort of plan to

avoid self destructing?

Jen,

I saw you email and just had to reply.You said your husband started

taking depakote and luvox since hes been out of the hospital, and that you

think that the depakote will help your husband stop drinking/drugging etc

because its an anti seizure med. Ok while its true that Depakote, is also a

mood stablizer that is given to people with bipolar disorder, cyclothymia,

and sometimes borderline personality disorder. The Luvox is an

antidepressant that has shown to be effective in people with obsessive

compulsive disorder. I have yet to read anything that states that either of

those medications are to be used for addiction. Also keep in mind that if he

goes to AA and tells anyone there that he is taking those medications they

will coerse him off of them faster than he can blink. So what to do? I

would suggest you have him follow up with a qualified psychiatrist to see if

he has a bonafide " mental illness " and if so follow that treatment route.

But thats just my opinion.

when My husband went to the hospital he told them his plan was to smoke

enough crack until his heart blew up, that he could not think of any other

way out. The hospital does not see this as a suicide threat. The kept him on

the locked ward for 48 hours then prescribed the aforementioned meds and sent

him home. These were Doctors.

well its now 48 hours since I have heard from him,he is not at home and I am

scared shit that something has gone terribly wrong. I know the lengths that

he goes to to get this shit, and im sure things are very ugly by now. This

hurts really bad and I can get no help from anyone in the medical profession

because drugs are involved, the thing is is that he always calls, I am not

sure what to do.

(a.k.a. went AWOL) and didn't return for FOUR YEARS! Honest to gawd. I

told that everything they " think " they know is wrong. the example he

states is that if they see a green wall and he tells them its red, then

it is red. very twisted, and most certainly preaching mind control

indoctrination.

newspeak. What's funny is that from either side, proAA or antiAA, " your worst

thinking got you here " would be technically accurate. But try telling them

That phrase used to confuse me a lot. They'd say, " Your worst thinking got you

here, " and I'd think, " Well, they all say this is where I'm supposed to be, so

why is it my worst thinking? " Nowadays I see it differently.

I asked a dude at the Alano Club about this group and he told me some

good gossip. The guy I heard it from is a rather crazy character,

though, so I don't want to post it for all the world to see. Suffice to

say it reminded me of the Branch ians.
