Guest guest
Hi , I felt the same way going into Hannah's second band. Her head had improved SOOO much, but at the same time I knew she needed another. All the travel, cost, etc just made it so unappealing! And we actually ended up with 3 DOCbands in total! She was banded at 4.5 mos first too. All I can really say is that at her age, she really should still see some great correction. Her first band results were very dramatic, just like my Hannah's, so it's very easy to be happy with that. However, you do need to take into account the big picture and her life of having that head, which you obviously are! The good part of her being older is that even though she may have to wear it twice as long, she'll only need it adjusted every other week! This does make the traveling seem easier, even if it equals about the same amount of trips. I'm also looking forward to seeing if you get a side opening or a bi-cal band. Blythe will be very appreciative for all you are doing for her. Hang in there! Keep looking at those progress pics of her for your motivation! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma > > WHAAAAAHHH > > So I am sitting here at the computer trying to psyche myself up to go > get Blythe's #2 helmet on Friday. Guest guest
Hey ~ I have been there! Aidan had a 3 week gap between bands and I wanted to back out but if there was the tiniest hope that he could obtain more correction then I knew it would be worth it. Keep your chin up! It will all be over before you know it! Natasha > > WHAAAAAHHH > > So I am sitting here at the computer trying to psyche myself up to go > get Blythe's #2 helmet on Friday. Guest guest
, I myself am going through 2nd band trauma right now. I'm right there with you! We are going to the specialist on Friday to see if he recommends it and will give us the Rx. I just keep telling myself that I can't live with regret. I don't want to come this far (12 weeks into the first band) and give up before I am satisfied that his head looks " normal " , not perfect. Hang in there, I think you know you are making the right decision and just keep telling yourself 6, 10, even 12 weeks is nothing compared to a lifetime (with an odd shaped head), Blythe will never remember and you will not regret it in the end. Take care, & Aidan in CT > > WHAAAAAHHH > > So I am sitting here at the computer trying to psyche myself up to go > get Blythe's #2 helmet on Friday.
