Guest guest
I am having my 8year old and husband tested for hypothyroid ASAP I am certain they both need some Armour, but I wanted an original blood test to have for comparison later. I want to only do one blood draw for my son, as he will probably be traumatized, and I want to get it all.. Does this sound like what I should ask for? TSH FreeT3 Free T4 Antibodies test Ferratin What about a TRS? Am I going to have to give reasons that I want these? My own doc, only did TSH and Free T4, and he said he would do a thyroid panel next time. I thought that was worthless. What is it again? I know the TSH is worthless after you are already on meds, but do you need it originally? Sorry to have so many basic questions, but I don't want to forget anything, Thanks, nne
Guest guest
All those, including Thyroid Releasing Hormone (TRH), and yes, the TSH in the beginning. I still test for TSH because mine has been ungodly high all yr long, despite treatment. I just got it down to a 10 something back at the end of February. I'm testing again in the next couple of weeks, on my own. With HealthCheck, you certainly don't have to give a reason, that's your perrogative. Look out for some lab personnel though. Make sure that they know exactly what is involved in this testing. My first couple of times at my local hospital lab was an educational experience for THEM!! tests for son and husband I am having my 8year old and husband tested for hypothyroid ASAP I am certain they both need some Armour, but I wanted an original blood test to have for comparison later. What do you know about it? is it one we should try to get? Guest guest
It wouldn't hurt to ask for it because that one (TRH) represents a problem at the site of the hypothalamus, instead of the pituitary or thyroid.
