Guest guest
OK, now that I have your attention.....I've have been to a chiropracter a time or two in my life, and they were fine!! BUT........I went to one today. I have a bulging disc in my back, which causes me no problem, but wanted to start work on it before I did have problems. And.........he had me stand in front of a mirror. And.........he stood behind me and put his index fingers in my ears, and WHILE SLIGHTLY PUSHING UP MY LEFT EAR---I SAW IT!!, claimed that my left ear was higher than my right, as if that was indicative of a posture problem. GIVE ME A BREAK. I SAW him push my ear up. Standing to my side, he then did some kind of posture alignment measurement--I think where my right ear was aligned, and where my shoulder was (something like that) and placed a hand by my ear (palm side facing the mirror), and a hand by my shoulder (palm side facing mirror), and said I was misaligned by 2 " . Later when he repeated the above two paragraphs AFTER I had an alignment, suddenly my ears were not one above the other, and the other alignment was only 1 " part. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF HOGWASH I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!!!! And during the body exam, he would have me press against his hand with one leg, and press with the other leg (and of course I was " weak " on one side because he could easily push my leg down.) And again, after an alignment, suddenly the weak side was not weak anymore because he was unable to push the leg down. AND I SWEAR he was FAKING THE PUSH THIS TIME!!!!!!!! Does ANYBODY have a reasoned COMMENT about the above?? Janie
Guest guest
I have been to one or two chiropractors in my lifetime that I'd go see again. That is out of 4 or 5. Mine was for neck pain from a wreck I was in, and headaches. Two of them are keepers and helped tremendously, and the last one, I wouldn't go back to see ever again! He had me hurting so bad that I almost couldn't sit in a chair. I think they have this little trick they do, where one day, the treatment works, and the next time, it doesn't......and you hurt like hell! lol. I've decided that from now on, I'd just as soon use a muscle relaxer, but I've not had the pain lately. Some of them are definately making sure you come back for more treatments. Of that I'm sure, after this last guy. He didn't help one bit, and I refused to even go in the last time I saw him. It was just too painful. SandyE~Houston Are CHIROPRACTORS quacks, or just some? Guest guest
sorry - no reasoned comment - but - my years are significantly off in alignment - and most people are shorter on one side - and! most women have slighly different sized breasts!! surprised he didn't want to check them out for you!! what an idiott. there are quacks in every profession I guess. I've met wonderful chiro's - and a couple jerks. Cris Are CHIROPRACTORS quacks, or just some? Guest guest
my last one was excellent. A massage therapist recommended him to me. He used to be a massage therapist himself. He took over an old office - with the old style equipment. He doesn't believe in treating for months at at time - maybe a few visits - but he believes in self help also - I stopped going when I had my surgery - and was afraid to go back to him. I had a cervical fusion done - and I don't need it to be damaged!! Cris Are CHIROPRACTORS quacks, or just some?
