Guest guest
> Has anyone in the group read up on the South Beach Diet. I have been trying this diet since sunday (almost 4 days). have lost 5.5 lbs. I seem to lose weight quickly when starting something new. I only want to lose about 15 lbs at the most. Not sure how it really affect the liver per se. It is based on eating good carbs, fats and proteins. Similar in sort to Atkins, but not nearly so restrictive and high fat. The first 2 weeks seem the toughest - it is the induction phase. Basically you eat protein (lean turkey, chicken, fish and beef and eggs, low-fat cheese), along with lots of veggies. After that time you add back in things like some fruits (whole-not juice) and carbs like oatmeal and high grain breads and whole wheat pasta, etc. In addition to low-fat milk and yogurt. I can notice a difference in the weight already but have been very tired (also have lots going on at work and home so maybe that accounts for some of the fatigue. Also not sleeping well due to some itching.) Maybe it does have something to do with the diet change or it is just me being me. I think I'll continue with it for now. Anyone else, please comment.
