Guest guest Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 To all of you who attended the conference: I want to second Dave's post. Here's a HUGE thank you to all of you who joined us for our first annual conference. Without the support of all of you, the conference would never have been so successful!! The whole Safer family loved having the chance to meet all of you. Honestly, you are an incredible group. Each of you has a story to tell, and you are all fascinating people in your own right. I am blown away by the combined positive energy of the group. I am inspired by all of you individually and combined as a group. I had no idea what to expect before we all got together, but what I experienced was beyond my fondest dreams!!!! I know for certain that this group (combined with all our online members who couldn't make it this year) will make huge strides in the future towards fighting PSC. I feel so much more hopeful about my future and the future of all of us. I am energized by all of you, and I was very sad to say goodbye to all of you yesterday. This is just the beginning of a long and successful future for the foundation and for all of us!!! Love (sorry to sound mushy...) Ricky and Don Thank you! I just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who participated in the Denver Conference, and for making this such an inspiring and uplifting event. It was a great honor and priviledge to meet you all for the first time. Best regards,Dave (father of (19); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03) Quote
Guest guest Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 I am happy to see that everyone is returning home safely just by seeing their replies on posts (especially Deb in VA). I think we all came away from the conference with such hope for the future of PSC. With such a remarkable group only positive things can be achieved. I know I am still on an emotional high from attending. I got home in the wee hours of the morning and I couldn't stop talking about all the great people I met and the informative speakers and the hope for the future. If we all do our part (whether it be large or small) great advancements can be made in research for PSC. One of the greatest parts of the conference for me was being able to put faces and personalities to the names. You are all so great and some of you are really funny... in Cleveland, Don Safer, Bill Wise just to name a few. It was so wonderful to meet Dr. Aubrey. I know he has helped many of us with his medical expertise...so I gave him a big thank you hug from me and also for all of you that weren't able to be there. I could go on and on, but I will save you all. Ricky, Don, Lee and deserve a standing applause for what they accomplished in Denver. It was a huge success. I will cherish the memories I came back to Pittsburgh with and look forward to many more successful conferences and lasting friendships in the future. Miss you all. Joanne (mom of Todd, 19, psc 12/01, crohns 1/02, tx twice 12/03 and living life to the fullest in 05...maybe not so full this week due to finals Quote
Guest guest Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 I am happy for the bonding you all did. I , like many of us here, had you constantly in my thoughts all weekend. I remembered the schedule posted on the psc site and tried to visualize what you all were doing. Sorry about the weather but we in the midwest are also suffering the cold but up to 70+ by Mothers Day. I am glad you hugged Aubrey, I really really miss him, it was comforting to have him put answers to questions in terms I could understand . You are so kind to share your thoughts with us and Arne, keep the pics coming, please.dee wife of bob, uc, ileo, psc Quote

Guest guest Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Joanne, thanks for the kudos but you do realize that you also contributed to making it a success with the wonderful bags, your wise council, your great secretarial skills and neat penmanship, and your wonderful sense of humor. You know that I want you to be a piston in my engine. I will definitely be in touch!!!
