Guest guest
too bad it would be a ;potential legal issue to tell clients that are getting synthroid to ask their DR's about Armour! LOL From: To: NaturalThyroidHormones Sent: Sunday, May 16, 2004 11:07 AM Subject: Re: Armour supplies? Hi, I own a pharmacy in Kansas and we are having no problem at all keeping in the armour thyroid in any of the strenghs so i do not know what everyone is talking about. As a matter of fact I ordered 20 bottles of each strengh (100 tablets) on friday and we should receive them on Monday. I think it varies depending on what wholesaler the pharmacy is using and how much that pharmacy is going through everyday. Unfortunately we go through a ton of synthroid and levoxyl daily and not to much Armour thyroid. Althoug I am on Armour throid most of our patients have their doctors prescribing the synthroid products. The Forest company has talked about discontinued use of the Armour Thyroid due to low usage nationwide but has not done so yet. There is a generic version of the Armour Thyroid that my husband thinks should work as well in case they discontinue the Armour thyroid but patients tell him it doesn't work as well as the brand. I will say if they stop production on the product I will know at least 6 months in advance and make sure to post here so that everyone could get as much as possible before they do. This is the standard peocedure with most drugs that they decide to discontinue. The pharmacies are notified in advance so that the physicians have ample time to change the patient to something else. i believe the physicians are notified as well but most don't get time to read the notifications that are sent to them. > The Armour that might be in short supply at the off-line pharmacies, are there any particular strengths that are involved/ > Feisty > Webb Osterloh(ThyroFeisty or Feisty) > http://thyroid_phoenix.tripod.com > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Thyroid_Support_Group/ > / > > >
Guest guest
It really goes to show how good Armour works, and I can just see the synthetic companies having a hemmhorage about now. I doubt if Forest ever expected the sales to turn into that much! They don't even have to advertise (think about that!), it's all by just word-of-mouth, reliability, etc...Forest is a small company, so I can see this happening. I'm just hoping that the price doesn't go on up (supply and demand). Re: Armour supplies? The pharmacist at the Wal Mart pharmacy here said yes, but she said that Forest didn't say which ones!! But, had information that Forest will eventually catch up. I think they owe us LOTS of money for advocating the use of Armour and getting into this GOOD bind--- hahahahaha. Guest guest
I think it's nice that they might have been put on Armour because Thyrolar is a synthetic T3-T4 combo. Maybe they'll all stay on Armour, when they find out they are feeling better! Re: Armour supplies? The only dose of Thyrolar that is available right now is Thyrolar 3. All the other doses are off the market. The only thing similar to Thyrolar is Armour (both made by Forest) and the other naturals. I bet the people who can't find Thyrolar are taking Armour. Guest guest
Yes, I do understand that not everyone will want to or will be able to consume the pork. After all, some people have pork allergy, and that's what is in Armour, but if they can take it, I think it's the one with the most promise. The T3 in the Thyrolar is certainly helpful, no doubt about it. Re: Armour supplies? I don't think Thyrolar is that bad. It's a nice alternative for people who can't take Armour or the other naturals because of religious or personal reasons. Plus the ratio of T3/T4 is higher in Thyrolar. Not all synthetics are that bad. Louise
