Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I took Connor to the Specialist on Wed and she said he is definately going to need to get banded. She diagnosed him with the plagiocephaly and said he had some torticollis also. She said he was at a 7. I am not sure exactly what that means. She didnt do any measuring, she just looked at his head. I got a prescription to see Cranial Technologies here in Dallas. I went to them for a consultation on Thursday afternoon and they gave me some stretches to do with Connor to improve the torticollis and told me he would probably need to wear a band for about 3 mths. No measuring or anything was done at this appt. Basically they took my insurance information and said they would call me as soon as they talked with the insurance company. How long does this normally take? Should I wait on that or should I go ahead and try to pay for it myself? If I do pay for it myself, will I get reimbursed by the insurance company? Im not sure what to do. I just keep thinking the longer I wait, the plagiocephaly will keep getting worse. Please advise. Thanks, (Connor 4 mths) torticollis and plagiocephaly Dallas, Tx
Guest guest
Hi , Time is on your side, you're lucky! You can call the ins company and hound them a little bit. Hopefully they'll put a rush on it. Measurments are usually only done when required by the insurance company. My baby wasn't measured. In the meantime you can aggressively reposition Connor. Guest guest
PS.. don't do anything until you have an approval from your insurance. If you go ahead without approval, you will be denied on the grounds that you didn't have approval. You can call your CT and ask them how long your ins co usually takes to approve. > > Hi Everyone! > > I took Connor to the Specialist on Wed and she said he is definately > going to need to get banded. Guest guest
Hi I will keep my fingers crossed that your insurance company comes through for you. Maybe you can schedule your appointments already while you are waiting. That way when they do decide you have them already.
