Since my diagnosis in 1997, I have been seeing Tamsin Knox at New

England Medical Center in Boston, and cannot say enough good things about

her. She's absolutely wonderful - smart, up-to-date, personable, and really

focuses on my quality of life. I also had my Whipple surgery at NEMC, which

was performed by Rohrer, the head of the transplant division, and he

is also just fantastic. So if Boston is a viable option for you, I

wholeheartedly

recommend NEMC and I'd be glad to answer any specific questions you

might have.

I used to see Dr. Molina at Memorial in Miami. He is an

hepatologist. I would reccomend him very much. However, he moved to

Gainesville and now I am seeing a new doctor in mid March in the same place.

I will tell you how it goes once I come back.

Hi !! I read your e-mail, and I would like to know which doctor are

you seeing in Miami now in March. I live in Miami, and I know some doctors

from U of M, and Mount Sinai. If you tell me the name, I may be able

to tell you who he is.

Hello Terry's wife. My name is Vivian and I live in Miami. I can recommend a

few hospitals and excellent doctors in this city.

Memorial Hospital (one of the top hospital for transplants in US and

for other things); Mount Sinai Medical Center (Miami Beach).

Doctors:

I Goldberg, MD, FACP, FACG (Gastro and at the same time treat liver

diseases)

He is also a professor at University of Miami School of Medicine and works

in conjunction with Guy Neff, MD Hepatologist from and U Of M. Then

two excellent transplant surgeons: s Tzakis, MD and Gaetano Ciancio,

MD. They both works for and U of M.

I hope this information will help you.

Vivian

Husband has UC (2000) and PSC (2003)

Need a doc/hospital

We live in mid-coast Maine half year and Key West the other half. Tough

life, right? My asymptomatic husband Terry was under the care (if you

could call it that) of Dr. Sheth at Lahey. He (the husband, not Sheth)

was supposed to send in labs. every six months. He did just that, to

find that Sheth now is at Beth Israel in Boston.

We are a 4 hour drive from Lahey and the B. I. when in Maine. We are a

little closer to Miami when in Key West. Terry chose Lahey for their

transplant program and was essentially assigned to Sheth. But, although

Terry's labs are often terrible, he walks, talks, acts and feels 100%

healthy so no one really payed much attention to him, which was

appropriate we felt. We were just getting our ducks in a row, in

anticipation of future needs.

Our question is: Should Terry follow Sheth—who barely knows him—to the

B.I., or should we find someone else in the Boston area, or in Miami?

Can anyone share excellent experiences with a doc and/or a hospital in

one of those cities, or experiences with Sheth?

Thanks in advance, group.
