Atkins is a stricter - or more aggressive - form of Somersizing. If you are used to Somersizing , you'll probably only need to make a few modifications. With Atkins, no fruit is allowed on Induction ... it has it's place, but it is further on down the line. Atkins is designed to break addictions to carbs and CURB YOUR HUNGER ! If you follow the rules, you will rarely be hungry. the first week is rough ( headaches, a few cravings) - but once you get past that - smooth sailing ! I just know that fruit in moderation is goodfor you....is it because of the sugar content? Im used to eating fruit and a bowl of oatmeal or shredded wheat....is this a no no? (atkins book should be here in 2days!!!!!!, promise not to bug y'all after that! As I recall, the brown and serve one's are higher carb than regular link sausages. They use a lot of grain " filler " . I made scrambled eggs, with cheese and ham yesterday for lunch. Well, I decided to use the tail end of some American cheese, and then noticed a chunk of cheddar, and figured " why not? " - well, with no other liquid at all, they were so runny, I had to let them sit for a few minutes so the cooling cheese would pull them together a little!! LOL They were SO cheesy that neither my son, nor I could finish our portions! We live in Colorado, which we later learned is one of only five states that currently screen all newborns for CF. We feel very fortunate that she was diagnosed early. Speaking of sense of humor: when we were called and told that our oldest daughter did not have CF but was a carrier, I told my husband that they said it came from his side of the family.
