Update on Connor-Had casting appt with CT

Hi Everyone!

Wanted to give an update on Connor and ask a couple of questions. We

are waiting on approval from our insurance company for the DOC band.

I was told by CT it could take 30 days or longer to get the

approval. I asked them if I was able to start treatment without

approval and then get reimbursed by the insurance company. They said

my insurance may require a precert. CT called my insurance company

last Tues and they did a precert so I was able to make an appt ASAP.

CT had a cancellation last Wed and I was able to take Connor in that

day to do the casting. Everything went ok with that. Connor did not

like it at all, he cried the entire time. After it was all over with

he was ok.

His band is suppose to come in on Dec 30th. The OT at CT said that

because of the severity of Connor's head that he may end up needing

more one band. She also told me that I had to keep him out of an

elevated position even with the helmet on. So basically no more

bouncy (which he loved to sit in) and no more swing. She said if he

continues to sit in them his head will grow tall. I bought a bumbo

chair which he is ok with for a while. I also bought one for daycare

because they love to put him in the swing and bouncy there. My

question is during these 8 days of waiting for the helmet to come in

after the casting, could his head shape change due to him still

sleeping on his back?

Also where can I find stickers to decorate his helmet? What kind

should I buy?

I have not posted pics of Connor yet. I will as soon as I figure out

this new digital camera that I got for Christmas.

Hi there! Read my latest post on my exp with CT. It should offer some help.

Also, to

answer your questions. Hana slept in an amby hammock (ambybaby.com) which

severly

helped her comfort with her head. We got one on ebay and she took to it great at

4

months and was very comfy with the helmet. I think you are fine with the 8 days!

Also,

keep an eye on them in the bumbo. You didnt say how old connor was, but Hana

nearly

flipped herself over in it when I turned my back (5mo old). We got stickers at

the local craft

store s. Not sure if you have them there. The scrapbook stickers are

everywhere,

even at walmart! good luck and may he like the helmet. Hana took to it well at

4.75 mo.

Hi , We are getting Ross's band tomorrow. He would have had it

Tuesday but he was sick with RSV. Have you put connor on his stomach

to sleep yet? Ross has been sleeping on his tummy since 11 wks old.

Hi ,

I can't see much happening with his head shape in such a short amount

of time. I used rub on transfers and sticker purchased from Joanne's

and 's craft stores. I sealed them with mod podge. The clear

back stickers work the best.
