Guest guest
I just read in a post above how a baby having sinus problems and ear infections could be related to plagio/brachy. Have other people found this to be true? My little guy, , has always sounded like he's snuffling and almost permanently congested. He has also had more than one or two ear infections. He has pretty severe brachy and it never occurred to me that with his head being so flat in back and his forehead protruding some that this could be putting pressure on his sinus paths. I'm really curious to see if being banded will help him breathe better too. was casted 2 weeks ago yesterday and we're expecting his band to be in any day now. I'm anxious now to get the show on the road. Jules Mom to 02/02/04 Soon to be STARbanded
Guest guest
I am sorry to say that my son has had lifelong congestion and being banded for plagio did not help. I hope that it may be the case for some, but it is not the case for all. His congestion has always been a mystery though- I believe it is allergies. Ear infections on the other hand, I do beleive can be related- from a craniosacral perspective, if there are cranial restictions then this can lead to fluid build up, and thus the ear infections. That is what I was told anyways, from our therapist. Guest guest
Hi Jules- My son (9mo) who has brachy has been congested since i can remember and has in the last month been treated for 3 ear infections (his first ones), sinuses, a chronic cough, croup, and pnumnonia (sp) and was almost hospitalized. I personally think his issues are caused from that as the doctors cannot provide me with anyother reason why he keeps getting these respiratory problems. Guest guest
I think the research tends to support Dara. Check out the files and links sections. However, I would not be suprised if for some kids the only factor is the tort and plagio. Of course some of our kids do have true allergies and bands will not fix that. mom to na DOC Grad 2/20/04 Tort Resolved SCdarabeth2003 <dalewine@...> wrote: I am sorry to say that my son has had lifelong congestion and being banded for plagio did not help.
