Guest guest
I am pretty ignorant in this area, but I know that some states have laws that forbid insurance companies to deny based on pre-existing conditions. WA is one of them. I don't know ANY of the details, though! Sorry, this probably is no help, but it's all I got. , 22 mos, DOC Grad 9.7 > Hello to all. Guest guest
, I know that this is easier said than done but try not to worry about the unknown. Think about what is the worst case scenario and then what would you do to overcome it. Break it down and think about it and it will help you cope better. You could possibly try calling your State Ins. Dept. and see if you can ask someone there. I'm not sure about this but could you call member services of BC/BS and ask the general question. Perhaps they might know immediately that it is illegal to deny you coverage. GL and please let us know. Sue Colin F. STARband grad 9/15/04 Buffalo, NY > Hello to all. Guest guest
, I have very limited information regarding this. My husband's company just changed insurance carriers mid year. It took 2 months for me to finally get the " in network " go ahead and had her banding appt. Aug 31, 2004. The new insuraance started September 1, 2004. CT used the banding date as date of service , even though adjustments will be made for months to come. My concern was would she be covered if she needed a second band. I was told they had to cover her pre-existing condition, if two conditions were met. First, there could not be any lapse in coverage. Second, I have to fill out a form for her pre-existing condition. I don't know what the laws are on this or if it varies from state to state. This is what my new insurance company and my husband's Human Resource Dept told me. I'd call your new insurance carrier and ask them what they will require. Guest guest
Hey As long as you guys (the baby) was insured for 90 days before taking the new insurance it is against the law to do a pre existing condition. So don't let them tell you any different. They cannot deny paying for the conditions has. I was in a similar situation (being diabetic) I found all this out, and just to let you know... insurance might try to tell you otherwise Sandy Willow's Mom torticollis resolved Cranio Germany Grad > Hello to all.
