Many children only need one band. It depends on a lot of factors,

including growth, age of beginning treatment, parental satisfaction,

etc. My son required 2 bands but he did not start treatment until

he was 12 months. Don't stress, one band may do a wonderful job for

your child. :)

Depends on the age of the child and severity of the problem. My

daughter wore a DOC for 6 weeks (4.5 to 6 mo) The results were

great... we are very borderline about needing a second band. I wasn't

going to do one, but now it looks like I might... the remaining

asymmetry is pretty small.

Hi!

I see Natasha already answered your question. I just wanted to

point out that we have an informal Poll question in the Polls

section of the group about how many bands babies required, and among

DOCbanders, the vast majority only had one band. As mentioned, age,

severity, complexity of headshape problem, and growth spurts of the

baby are all contributing factors, so it can be difficult to know

with certainty whether one band will do the job, but it appears that

it usually does.
